How much is too much oregano oil for an adult male?

Oregano oil has natural compounds like carvacrol, thymol, menthol and dozens of others that are responsible for the pungency and medicinal effects of oreganol. I use it when I’m sick since it has proven anti-microbial properties. It’s a type of mint. I usually try not to exceed 5 drops a day out of those tiny essential oil bottles when I’m ill. How much is too much though?

Oregano essential oil from Origanum vulgare has a recorded acute oral LD50 of 1.85g/kg. This means that half of the test subjects administered 1.85 grams of essential oil per kilogram of body weight died. This is not a complete determination of toxicity.
